Plane: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is an international airport serving the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat, India.Gujarat is a state in Western India, sometimes referred to as the Jewel of Western India.

Public Transportation: Getting into and around Gujarat can be fairly simple.Local transport in the state can take you anywhere you would like through Gujarat.

Taxis and Cars: Traffic in Gujarat is normal apart from busy peak office hours in city area.



Gandhi Ashram: Sabarmati Ashram (also known as Gandhi Ashram, Harijan Ashram, or Satyagraha Ashram) is located in the Ahmedabad suburb of Sabarmati, Gujarat, near the Ashram Road, on the banks of Sabarmati river, four miles from the town hall. This was one of the residences of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, commonly called Mahatma Gandhi, who lived there for about twelve years, and his wife, Kasturba Gandhi.

Summer: March to May.The summers are extremely hot and dry.

Monsoon: June to September. A popular time for visitors, temperatures are not too hot but stay between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.

Winter:  October to January.The winters are mild, pleasant, and dry with average daytime temperatures.

The people of Gujarat live a hectic and chaotic life. There is always busy people in the streets trying to get from point A to point B. Although, it isn’t fair to define all Gujarat people this way as their culture and experiences far outweigh the chaos. Once you realize the beauty behind this chaos, it is quite enjoyable.

The home of the Gujarati dish! When in Gujarat take advantage of the many small food shops and vendors. You can get the cheapest food and drink at local vendors and quite often it is usually the most delicious!

Low Budget: Hostels start around $20 USD and rise to prices around $60 USD.

Medium Budget: On a medium budget you can get a nice hotel room with an average view of the city. Expect to pay between $100 and $200 USD for these accommodations.

High Budget: Given that Gujarat is a very popular tourist destination, a lot of money has been put into building beautiful hotels that will cost you around $300 USD and up.


Travel Tips
